Inspiration for #FolkloreThursday

‘Farmer’ by Bambang Wirawan

According to Twitter, the hashtag #FolkloreThursday is trending today. This hashtag is used to share folklore related blog posts and facts every Thursday. So to get in on the action we thought we would share a small selection of the photographs that were entered into our Folklore competition which was open for submissions this past summer.

We chose the theme of Folklore as we were interested in receiving images of the expressive culture that is shared by a group of people and the traditions that unite them. The entries that we received were very varied, and as always we left the theme open to interpretation.

You can see the winning and commended images here as selected by our independent judge. The images you see were not lucky enough to be selected by our judge but we think you will agree that they are also of a very high standard.
