Photography Competition: Unusual Everyday

Making The Call by Pandit Aniruddha

Entries to our regular photography competition are coming in thick and fast and there have been some really great submissions. We are happy to see that so many of you have really understood the concept of ‘Unusual Everyday’ and your photographs are a great interpretation of the theme. We have selected some of the best entries received so far and we have included them here so that you can see the kind thing we are looking for.[short]

Some of the less successful entries appear to have focused solely on the everyday element and to be in with a chance of winning the entries need to clearly fulfill all aspects of the brief. If you need a reminder of what that is or you feel that you are up to the challenge, this is what we are looking for:

· Everyday objects or places taken from unusual angles or perspectives

· Unusual uses of everyday objects

· Everyday objects shot in unusual places

· Everyday activities done in an unusual way

· Something unusual that you might not see everyday

· Unusual activities taking place in everyday locations

The competition runs through to the 25th December and is open to everyone. To bag yourself a free subscription to either Digital Photo, Practical Photography or Professional Photographer Magazine and to get the opportunity to have your work considered for inclusion in one of our free touring public exhibitions, make sure you get your entries in before the closing date. And remember, all images submitted must have a title which indicates why they are an unusual everyday image. Good Luck!
